Alison, our administrator at Southlands, won first prize for her needlework at Hutton Cranswick Village Show on Sunday 29th July 2018.
The embroidery is of the lost Hull trawlers St Romanus, Kingston Peridot, Ross Cleveland and the Gaul.
Alison said “It didn’t take long to do, maybe 2 or 3 months; I always have a piece of embroidery on the go as having a “service” job I don’t really produce an end result so it satisfies my creative side.
There is no significance to the trawlers as such; I wanted to try some of the different stitches I used for the scallop shells, sea horses and fishing net so the design just grew from there.”
We think it’s fantastic – congratulations Alison!
