Both of my parents were admitted to Cherry Trees in March 2020 and within one week the country went into lockdown as a result of the coronavirus. I was obviously, therefore, unable to visit my parents and felt like I had abandoned them. I had no cause to worry though as the staff really looked after them and in the summer we were able to visit them once a week in the care home gardens. Both of them said they were being well looked after and that the meals were excellent. As the weather worsened we were unable to see them in the garden but the staff have been excellent and phoned me whenever there was something which they felt I should be aware of. The home has now created a “pod” so that my parents can be visited again albeit we are separated by a glass partition.
