Gardens and gardening make us feel better – that’s a fact – and the real magic is that anyone, anywhere, can enjoy the healing power of being at one with nature!
The residents at Hutton Manor Care Home agree, having spent a sunny spring afternoon planting seeds into pots, including those they had painted earlier in the week, they all feel so much happier!
They planted cress, Marigold and Sunflower seeds, as well as other summer plants, and whilst it was a bit of a messy task, it was plenty of fun.
Gardening can reduce depression, anxiety, and stress-related symptoms.
The effects of planting the tiniest seed and watching it grow into something beautiful by getting your hands dirty can make your brain super-happy, and the #Pudsey residents are now looking forward to seeing the first shoots appear.
