Alpine Lodge residents are encouraged to take part in different activities and they are also encouraged to do the hobbies they used to do.
This week the ladies got together to make a patchwork quilt, utilising old knitted jumpers, made into squares.
Everyone had a go at sewing the pieces together.
There were lots of comments about how in the ‘olden days’ women would wear blankets like this if they couldn’t afford a coat and how warm they must have been.
They all said how their own mothers would have been very quick at making these blankets, which might have included the knitting of the squares too.
They will be getting together next week, to continue making the blanket.
