Our Home

The Meadows is a modern, purpose-built 65 bedroom set in the old South Tyneside mining town of Boldon Colliery.

The home offers residential, nursing and dementia care to older people on both a short and long-term basis.

We have a dedicated reminiscence room and other areas for relaxation around the home.

All areas of the home have been well maintained and are tastefully decorated. An enclosed courtyard in the centre of the home allows for secure outdoors access for residents. All bedrooms are equipped with partial ensuite facilities and are spacious and fully furnished. Additional furnishings, decorations and items are permitted and encouraged to provide a homely feel.

The home has several large lounges and dining areas in addition to a reminiscence room.

Burlington Care strongly support the provision of a healthy, nutritious and balanced diet for all residents. The approach to nutrition taken is based upon choice and quality for residents. We take pride in providing tasty, tempting meals for our residents. Mealtimes are regarded as enjoyable social occasions for most residents, although those who wish to eat their meals in their own rooms are enabled to do so. Each resident will be asked for their individual food preferences as well as their cultural, religious or health needs and these will be taken into account when planning menus. Special dietary requirements can be met, as all our meals and baking are ‘home’ cooked on the premises.
