Often care homes receive thanks after a resident has passed away and those messages are pinned up for all the staff to see. The words mean so much and highlight the care that staff have delivered.
Today it was the turn of The Grange in Darlington, to get one of those letters.
This one is so important, coming immediately after the Care Quality Commission found the care home to be good across the board.
The words of this letter show everyone that moving into a care home is often the beginning of another chapter and that caring for someone can increase their mental and physical wellbeing.
Making the transition from your own home and into a care home can be an ordeal, although in the case of Marjorie everyone at The Grange stepped up to make sure she settled in well.
That Marjorie lived for eleven years at The Grange, sums up the care and support that she received.
What a wonderful tribute.
