Daniel Collins a Senior Carer at Sycamores Care Home Wakefield has been shortlisted for an award at the prestigious “Caring Through Covid Awards“.

Daniel was nominated by staff at the homes local Medical Practice for his continued hard work, compassion and empathy shown throughout the pandemic.

Home manager Steve Hague commented “Daniel has certainly gone ‘the extra mile‘ through these difficult times and I am extremely proud to have him within The Sycamores team“

The awards are a platform to showcase some of the incredible work carried out during the pandemic, to recognise some of the remarkable efforts, and to thank all staff for their response. Each category winner will be awarded £200, and runners up will each receive £100. Winners will be announced at the ceremony.

Gary Jevon, Chief Executive Officer of Healthwatch Wakefield, said: “Our adult social care service staff have been working under immense, unprecedented pressures over the last 18 months or so, and have responded magnificently in many cases. The work they have done, and the care they have continued to provide, has been amazing considering the challenges they’ve faced. It’s an honour to be able to celebrate their efforts, their achievements, and say ‘thank you’ in this way.
