Sycamores Care Team

Meet the Team …

Steve Hague has been the Home Manager at Sycamores for six years. His ‘can-do’ attitude is appreciated by social services and local discharge teams; who know they can ring Steve and he will attempt to make space for a new resident, no matter what time of the day or week.

Steve operates a tight ship and is regularly full, due to the reputation he has created.

Steve adds to his extensive qualifications in social care; “The pandemic has changed the way our Wakefield care home operates and testing for COVID is a priority, as is making sure that new residents isolate, yet still care for their mental health and care needs.
“New residents are isolated from other residents, but they are not left on their own.
“Due to COVID, visiting is not possible at the moment, but we do our best to keep the family connected via Skype, Whatsapp and social media.
“We have activities running every day and encourage all residents to get involved and to socialise.
“Once out of isolation, all residents are invited to take part.”

More recently and something Steve and the rest of his staff are proud of; he invited family and friends to a drive-thru, to see their loved ones. It featured on television news channels and social media as a top story.

Steve’s personal hobbies include motorsport and he loves Top Gear but one of his lesser-known skills is fly fishing and he spends many hours fly dressing.

The Care Team at Sycamores strives to deliver the highest levels of residential and dementia care to our residents.
Our trained, experienced and compassionate Care Team will devise a bespoke care plan so you can rest assured your loved one will receive the best possible care.
