Elaine, an Activity Coordinator at Figham House, has joined up with Together with Music (TwM); a national intergenerational campaign, aiming to bridge the gap between the young and the old in an exciting, digital way.

Now more than ever, it is vital to find new and positive ways to support our residents, especially those living with Dementia.

It is equally important to encourage the local community to engage in connection and creativity, tackle loneliness and social isolation and promote sustainable socialising for those most vulnerable and isolated.

Figham House in Beverley is proud to be a member of this campaign, celebrating the residents and care staff and using the power of music to connect and engage with local community groups during this time of isolation and distance.

Figham House wants to play an active part in building strong, creative and resilient communities, encouraging both the young and the old in an opportunity to explore, develop and come together in music – and you can too, by signing up to Together with Music.

During this challenging time, Together with Music are here to support staff and residents through music, creativity and intergenerational connections. They have an abundance of resources and activities centred around community and connection and will be offering bi-weekly FREE specialist workshops to TwM members including; music, art, poetry, history etc.

Their “Connectors” are also on hand to support healthcare staff and Activities Coordinators, by offering ongoing support and guidance as they embark on this beautiful intergenerational journey!

Elaine added; ‘I have signed up to Together with Music and why and to encourage other homes to do so.’
